From Makeup Artist to DEI Trailblazer: The Inspiring Journey of Kathleen Johnson
Kathleen Johnson, a Certified Diversity Inclusion Professional (DIP) and CEO of Kreativ Culture Strategies, has dedicated her life to championing DEI and anti-racism initiatives. Born in Calgary to Grenadian parents, Kathleen's academic background in Sociology and Cultural Anthropology from Carleton University, combined with DEI certifications from eCornell and coaching qualifications, has shaped her career. She has supported DEI efforts at companies like Bank of America and advised federal agencies. As a breast cancer survivor and single mother of five children with special needs, Kathleen brings lived experiences to her work. Currently, as a Senior Consultant with the Provincial Health Services Authority in BC, she drives DEI strategies for over 30,000 staff. Her multifaceted career includes stints as a makeup artist for major TV shows and celebrities, hosting "The Kreactivators" podcast, and authoring Thinking Outside the Boardroom, set to release in 2024. Passionate about politics, hip-hop, and live music, Kathleen's work continues to leave an indelible mark on society.
